Sterling Golf Services was founded in 1991 by Robert Sterling, an actor and avid golfer from southern California. Upon re-locating to Las Vegas in 1985, Mr. Sterling spent a great deal of time at the Las Vegas golf courses playing and meeting new people. Bob started Sterling Golf Services almost by accident, just talking with his playing partners who were almost exclusively visitors to Las Vegas.  He noticed a trend with visitors to Las Vegas, there wasn’t enough information about the local courses or resources to book tee times.  Over the next few years, Bob would receive calls from these playing partners who requested that he help them reserve golf for their next visit to Las Vegas to which he would accommodate.  From these innocent beginnings, we have grown into Sterling Golf Services, LLC

Steven Zyla was next to join the team.  Originally from Wisconsin, Steve moved to the Valley in 1994 at age 15.  His golf career started in 1996 and has continued to this day.  He has worked in all facets of Las Vegas golf operations from cart attendant to golf shop and eventually course operations.  Steven joined the Sterling Golf Services team in an effort to finish his schooling at UNLV.  He is now an owner with the organization.  Steven is an avid golfer who plays in many local amateur tournaments in the Las Vegas valley.  His knowledge of course layouts and conditions is invaluable for our customer base.

Charles Afualo joined the team in 2005 as an owner after a 10 year stint in local golf operations.  Charles moved to Las Vegas in 1995 after schooling in Arizona to pursue a career in golf.  He immediately began in the same matter as Steven working his way up from golf shop assistant to general manager.  Charles has managed many golf clubs in the Las Vegas valley and has extensive knowledge in course operations.

Steven and Charles met in 1997 while working together at a local course and had remained friends until they became business partners in 2005.  When the opportunity to join the Sterling Golf Services team presented itself both Steven and Charles jumped at the chance to be a part of the growing golf industry in Las Vegas.
